Juried by Carol Shinn of Ft. Collins, Colorado, the following works received Juror Mention:

"The Long View"

by Susan Strickland

"The Cairn" or "Honey, are you sure we're still on the trail?"

by Marla Ferguson

"Sierra Vista"

by Rita Faussone

"Midnight Fires"

by Tana LaDuke

"Hidden Treasures"

by Gay Ousley

Shinn made these comments in her statement about the exhibit:

"It is challenging to jury a varied body of other people’s work. The juror must try to be objective within their own understanding of what art can be, and that of course is very subjective. What that person sees will be different than what each artist saw in their imagination or in the physical realization of their ideas. I found wonderful use of patterned and textured fabrics among the entries as well as subtle use of paint and stitching.  I found how living in the colorful and arid Southwest informs the art that is made there."

Shinn's work can be seen at her website www.carolshinn.com.
