Jean Roesler

Ask Jean Roesler about her quilting life and she starts at the beginning, saying “I was born with a needle in my hand”.  She had many of the best influences, a sewing, quilting grandmother that lived with her and parents who worked for Berea College in Berea,  KY, a campus famous for it’s influence on arts and crafts. 

Over time she has owned two quilt shops, Kaleidoscope Quilts & Needleworks in Knoxville, TN and Cotton Crossing, in the peach orchards of Palisade, CO for the last 12 years.  She has a quilting book to her credit, “Rectangular Quilt Blocks” and was a founding member of the Colorado Quilting Council, the state guild of Colorado. 

Her work has appeared in Quilter’s Newsletter, and several other national quilting magazines.  Recently her one woman show of quilts based on fabrics printed with cowboy motifs  (consisting of 80 quilts and still growing)  has been featured at history museums in Craig and Grand Junction, Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum.  Jean's cowboy series was featured at the first Denver National in 2005.  Contact Jean.
