Marla Ferguson

Hi! I’m Marla Ferguson and I love to create and quilt! I’ve been quilting for 27 years now and although I started out with strip pieced traditional quilts, I’ve done wearable art for at least 20 years and more recently am exploring all of the many options in art quilts. Most of the quilts I make today are based on a theme or challenge. I especially enjoy making a statement with my quilts although I also enjoy twisting the meaning of a theme and coming up with something whimsical or humorous.

Many of the quilts I make now become donations for worthy organizations. Of course, I’d be happy to sell them if you’re interested!

Some of my wearable art have won awards both locally and nationally.  I currently have a piece hanging in a show at the Pioneers Museum in Colorado Springs and also have a piece traveling with the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative which was organized by Ami Simms and her efforts have raised over $100,000 for Alzheimer’s research. Check out her website at amisimms.com for more information on how you can help with this project!

Thanks for stopping by my quilt website! Enjoy and come back again soon!
