Ruth Field

"The history of Grand Junction, Colorado, is alive with story and living details that are often lost in the folds of time.  Ruth's artwork unfolds the fabric of Grand Junction's history by retelling its narrative through dimensions of fabric, thread, color, mediums and textures.  Hidden pictures and thread sketching draw the viewer in for a closer look, senidng them on a journey of unexpected discovery, imagination, forgotten memories and even whimsy.

Each piece of Ruth's work magically captures Colorado's history and erupts with life. She has a unique slant on fiber art, combining unusual fabric choices and techniques with historic research into the details that make her pieces so well loved.
