July 1                                  Results of jurying available

July 16                                Image(s) for postcard available to Art Department at Mesa State College

August 1                           Press release sent out by Art Department; AQuA may also send its own releases

August 6                           Our mailing list names in electronic form to MSC Art Department; we pay additional bulk-

                                                        rate postage (there is a specific Excel format to integrate with Art Department’s)

August 18 & 19                  Installation of exhibit following AQuA meeting

August 20-

  September 7                    Exhibit opens in Johnson Gallery at Mesa State College; M-F, 9-4

 (free admission to the Gallery)

Friday, August 24            Gallery Talk by Maureen Hendricks and AquA Members, 6:30

                                          Public Reception, 7-9 (MSC pays for reception)

September 15                    Quilts returned to artists at AQuA meeting

General Information:

• All pieces must be the original work of AQuA Members
• Artists pay $15 for first entry and $10 for each additional entry (non-refundable)
• Mesa State College will charge a 30% commission on sales and will manage those sales; checks are made out directly to the artist, and the artist pays the gallery its commission (for tax purposes; artists must factor in the commission and tax when pricing work)
• There is no minimum size requirement; the maximum size is 72x72”
• Pieces will hang by slats nailed to the wall at each top end of the quilt; each artists must provide her/his own predrilled slats, with artist’s name and quilt title on the slats
• Sculptural pieces are accepted; the gallery provides pedestals
• All wall quilts must have a minimum 4” sleeve on top; the bottom sleeve is optional
• All pieces must have a temporary covering for the label (tape, muslin, etc.)
• Artists pay $20 for first professional photograph and $15 for each additional quilt; please see Entry Form for additional information
• Mesa State College pays for the first 1,000 postcards and postage for its mailing list of 800; AQuA may purchase additional postcards and members mail their own; 1,500 additional cards are $75
• Mesa State College provides the title cards for each work and uses the information provided by the artists on the Entry Form

Checklist for Artists:
